New Frontier

So I’ve never really got couponing before. I’ve always been more of the type to just buy what I want/need and if I get a deal, great! One of the mom’s in our play date group is a super couponer – not the scary 60 shelves of tampons type but like gets $100 of groceries for $15 type – and so I’ve been seeing her really great deals. All that to say that this week was super doubles at Harris Teeter and I decided to give it a try.

Uh-oh.

I think I’m hooked.

The groceries you see above I got for $11. Now, I didn’t get done of the stuff FO FREE like I could have but that’s because I’m still learning things. Like, if it’s super doubles, you have to know when the stores restock because the best deals get cleaned out early. And that I need to plan ahead with my coupons because many of them need to be printed out and come from different websites.

The only downside I see is that the coupons are not for “fresh” foods like produce and meat which is what we try to eat most. We’ll see how we do next time though!

It’s Summer!

I am so excited that it is finally, officially-ish, summertime! My favorite time of year; second only to Fall. I also realize it’s been a little while since I’ve posted so here are some updates:

House – Our condo is still for sale and while we are still getting a showing here and there, it’s hard to not be discouraged. I realize that we haven’t been on the market for very long but this in-between stage is no fun! So, if you know anyone in the market for a great condo with even better neighbors… 🙂

Boot Camp – Still going strong! Still struggling with making good food choices! But the workouts are as great as ever and continuing to feel strong has made me confident.

My sister was here this past week! Watching Mason and Judah is so fun – they are getting to the age where they do and say such funny things. They are still figuring out this whole playing together and sharing thing but it’s getting better. Mason loves to play outside and my mom had set up a little kiddie pool. For whatever reason, Judah had decided that he was not super impressed with playing outside this week so Mason was constantly saying things like: “Judah? Water play swimmin’?”

I also realize I took pretty much zero pictures from this whole trip. Oops. Sometimes I wish so much that they lived closer because whenever we get together it feels like a whirlwind of trying to cram in as much time as possible. Sometimes I think about how nice it would be if they just lived down the street and we could do dumb things like take on the grocery store with all the kids together. Too bad Josh and Jeremy like their jobs 🙂

Summer Plans – I think we will mostly be sticking around town this summer. With selling the house it’s difficult to make any big plans since we don’t know when we might have a showing or a sale (part of why it’s so frustrating being in this limbo stage!) Josh and I are planning a trip to the Outer Banks on Saturday for our anniversary so that might have to count as our “vacation” this year. Hopefully we won’t get rained out again!
