“In sickness and in health.”

So this week Josh and I are home sick with strep. Yucko. It’s been interesting because in the three years we’ve known each other, we’ve never been sick at the same time. Especially since Josh’s method of being ill (and I quote) is  “curl up and die alone” and I as both a woman and his wife, want to take care of him. When I’m sick too I feel like I can’t do that. Not to mention, I’ve never been good with sitting around the house – even when I feel like crap. However there are many things I’ve found to be thankful for:

– the invention of antibiotics (through God’s creation of mold of all things)

– hot showers that make sicknesses feel better

– a husband who is a companion and a friend, even when we’re just sharing the couch

My fellow sick-ee

My fellow sick-ee

– jobs that are secure and stable and allow us to take sick days without worry

– comfortable house that allows for lots of rest

Being sick is no fun, and for people like us who love to be around people being in isolation is just as frustrating as the illness itself, but I’m thankful! 🙂
